Learn how to respond to recruiters

Dear fresh graduates,

You really should learn how to respond to recruiters. Otherwise those who are seeking jobs might run into inevitable problems in future.

Every mail I got is full of mistakes. Remember, this is the first stepping stone to get into an interview. You must polish those skills first, otherwise no one will ever call you although you might be highly skilled.

Rule No. 1. Never ever contact a recruiter via facebook, although the person might post in groups. If he/she doesn't mention how to get in touch, then you can firmly ask.

Rule No. 2. It's not mandatory to know the name of the corresponding recruiter or HR so you don't need to mention the name. Each and every mail I got from KUETians, they couldn't spell my name properly.

Rule No. 3. Check your spellings before sending your response. This is a must, we and every other company apply zero tolerance regarding this matter. Someone applied and named the program "CIGGRAPH". Basically he doesn't know what is "SIGGRAPH" and this is kind of sad, didn't expect this from a KUETian (or did I?).

Rule No. 4. Write your CV/Resume properly. This is not 90s; people, things have changed. CS/EEE grads can follow this template on how to write a resume (https://careercup.com/resume). If I need to scroll more than 3 pages then I will discard your application.

Rule No. 5. Never ask a recruiter what the job is about. You need to dig through it to get a rough idea, you might ask relevant questions when you are asked to do so, but not before that. If people write mails asking me WTH is SIGGRAPH and why I should join, probably they are not the right people for the job.

I am really disheartened that I had to write this long post. University won't teach you these things but if you are serious enough you could learn all of these in one single day.
